MISS WORLD TOP MODEL 2021: Cameroon’s Audrey Monkam wins second place

On Monday, December 6, Audrey Monkam, Miss Cameroon 2020, finished second in the category “Top Model,” one of the side competitions of Miss World. This is a first for Cameroon.

The first place went to Ivorian Olivia Yacé, the current Miss Côte d’Ivoire who won the competition and became the first candidate to enter the final Top 40. As for the third place, it went to Puerto Rican Aryam Diaz.

Audrey Monkam, 26, was one of the three African candidates competing in the Top Model Challenge.

Miss World is one of the 4 biggest international beauty contests, along with Miss Universe, Miss Earth, and Miss International.

Its selection procedure consists of several challenges and competitions. Fifteen groups of six candidates were confirmed for the first round. The winners of the second round are qualified for the final Top 40. The final will take place next December 16 at the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico to elect a successor to Jamaican Toni-Ann Singh.
